Commodity markets masterclass

This half day commodity markets masterclass explores commodity pricing in procurement, with a focus on oil, diesel, energy and base metals. These commodities are commonly referenced in procurement contracts that include pricing mechanisms linked to recognised market benchmarks.

Designed as an introductory and educational session, the masterclass provides a practical overview of how commodity markets operate, how prices are determined, and the role hedging can play in managing price risk. Participants will build awareness of commodity pricing concepts and develop a greater understanding of pricing transparency, supporting the use of fair, transparent, and market-based pricing approaches in contracts. The session will also explore how commodity price movements can impact budgets, project costs, and long-term procurement outcomes.
